Martin G. Tilley, MD, DDS
Martin Tilley, DDS, MD joins our practice with nearly 40 years of experience providing oral surgery and medical care to the greater Nebraska community. Dr. Tilley earned his medical degree and completed his oral surgery residency training at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha in 1984. While in residency Dr. Tilley joined the National Guard as a General Medical Officer and served as Commanding Officer of the medical support company for the State of Nebraska National Guard from 1981-1989.
After graduating from UNMC, Dr. Tilley and his family moved to Kearney, Nebraska, and opened the first oral surgery practice in Buffalo County, which he owned for 35 years before selling the practice in 2019. Dr. Tilley also worked as an emergency department physician at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney and other hospitals throughout the state from 1984-2007. In 2019, Dr. Tilley transitioned to a faculty position at the Creighton University School of Dentistry, passing along his expertise to the future of dentistry. He has volunteered for years, and continues to do so, at a free clinic in Lincoln providing oral surgery care to low-income patients who do not have the means to obtain dental care.
There are many things that make Dr. Tilley a remarkable surgeon. What truly sets him apart is his ongoing commitment to the ever-advancing field of medicine, as well as his passion for helping others. Dr. Tilley’s favorite part of his work is helping people, “At the time they need service, it’s an urgent need. It’s an experience that can be very unpleasant—I like helping them through that and getting them through it comfortably.”
